watercolours done last month

So, I was talking earlier about using complementary colours to create depth in a painting- as gleaned from umpteen tutorials by other far more experienced artists, and I think these were better than last years. I see alot more depth in the paintings.

The flower is from a pic taken in Ooty, I think it was growing on a stone compound wall. The apple I ate soon after painting it! And the house was in Ladakh (pic taken years ago) seen on the road from Leh to Kargil, if I remember right.

This is again on cartridge (130gsm) which as I learnt is too thin for watercolours. Apparently I should be ideally using 300gsm, but found only expensive imported stuff online, which I’ve decided to afford only when I get better! However I did score some seemingly good (and thick) handmade paper yesterday, so let’s see how that works.
